Celebrating 25 years of North Tyneside Art Studio

Curiosity Creative will be helping North Tyneside Art Studio (NTAS), a charity which works with adults experiencing mental health problems, mark its 25th anniversary by working with service users to make digital stories.

NTAS started as an artist residency project in the 1980s, in Rake Lane Psychiatric Ward. When the ward closed, NTAS moved to its current home in the Linskill Centre in North Shields, where the team supports approximately 150 adults each year who experience a variety of mental ill-health.

To mark its 25th anniversary, the charity is launching a Heritage Lottery Funded project, Transforming Service: Transforming Lives. We’re delighted to be a part of the project and will be working with NTAS staff, volunteers and service users to capture stories about the project’s history, the people involved and how it’s helped to transform people’s lives.

Watch a digital story by Chris, a NTAS service user.
